Molly Montgomery
Wilbur-Ellis BoardMolly Montgomery is an experienced public company CEO and Board Director with a deep passion for sustainability and leading teams throughout the Food and Agriculture supply chain.
In addition to Wilbur-Ellis, Ms. Montgomery currently serves as Board Director for The Wine Group, Custom Made Meals, and Benson Hill (NYSE: BHIL), and as a Strategic Advisor for early-stage companies such as Trace Genomics, Planted Places, and Nuvve Holdings (NASDAQ: NVVE). Ms. Montgomery is also serving or has served as Board Director for several SPACs (NASDAQ: ROCH, ROCC, ROCR, ROCG), providing required capital for companies to reach their full potential.
Ms. Montgomery previously served as CEO, President and Board Director of Landec Corporation, a publicly-traded company in the health and wellness space. Landec is comprised of two independent operating businesses: Lifecore Biomedical and Curation Foods.
During her tenure at Landec, Ms. Montgomery led the acquisition of Lifecore and subsequently its expansion into adjacent markets through organic growth, delivering a 9-year revenue CAGR of 16% and EBITDA CAGR of 25%. She also led the turnaround of the food business at Landec, transforming the company from a commodity vegetable company to a branded, innovative natural foods company with sustainable business practices. In January of 2019, the name of the company was changed from “Apio” to “Curation Foods” to signify the completion of this strategic transition and the launch of its first corporate-wide sustainability program.
Ms. Montgomery has also served on the Board of Directors for Windset Farms, one of the largest and most technologically advanced hydroponic growers in North America. This privately-held, family-owned business owns over 10 million square feet (>230 acres) of state-of-the-art greenhouses that produce year-round, sustainable vegetables for retail and club customers.
Prior to Landec, Ms. Montgomery served as VP of Global Marketing and Business Development at Ashland Chemical. She also was an executive in two software companies, both of which were acquired. Ms. Montgomery held additional positions in strategy, marketing, engineering and operations in a number of chemical, pharmaceutical and consumer product companies. Ms. Montgomery holds a BES and MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
