In February of 2024, Wilbur-Ellis made a $2,000 donation to Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council in Michigan.

“The S.A.V.E. Council is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides services, programing and support to efforts targeting the end of violence in the lives of Sanilac County citizens. The organization also operates the Eva’s Place emergency shelter program. Eva’s Place is a 16-bed residential facility that provides 24/7 crisis services for men, women and children fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault or homelessness. Clients of the shelter receive emergency food & shelter, case management, support services referral, employment assistance, legal and medical advocacy, and free counseling. Along with the shelter service program, the council also facilitates self-defense classes for women and children, free personal safety alarms and pepper spray.

Our council also partners with all Sanilac County School Districts to provide violence prevention information that is shared with Jr High and High School students. The S.A.V.E. Council maintains an Eva’s Place Shelter website, Facebook page and freely distributes domestic violence and sexual assault education information to the community at no cost. Each year our organization has the challenge to identify the needed $130,000.00 required to support our full $340,000.00 annual operating budget. Much work is done to fundraise and seek community donations. Your support over the past years has been extremely helpful and we are grateful for your partnership.

Thank you, Wilbur-Ellis for your support for our community in the Thumb of Michigan!”
