October 24, 2013 – PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Resinate Materials Group, Inc., a provider of polyurethane dispersion (PUD) resin technology and products to the coatings industry, has entered into a distribution agreement with Connell Brothers, the largest marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients in Asia-Pacific. Under the agreement Connell Brothers would have exclusive rights to distribute Resinate’s line of PUDs resins in China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and India.
The agreement marks Resinate’s first major venture outside of North America and gives Connell Brothers’ clients access to Resinate’s novel PUD resin products. The relationship further expands Connell Brothers’ already extensive portfolio of chemical products to include PUDs for diverse coating applications such as wood, automotive, architectural and industrial products. Both companies will benefit from the growing importance of PUDs, which are enjoying increased acceptance in the coatings industry because of their compatibility with low VOC formulations and protective properties.
Resinate is currently in the midst of an aggressive growth strategy to expand its PUD business. Earlier this year Resinate secured distribution relationships with firms in the U.S. and Canada and has made significant strides to enhance its research and development activities and infrastructure.
