Last year was tough for many people in the U.S., particularly for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and the wildfires in Northern California. Wilbur-Ellis made Impact Fund donations to help those in need.
It was a first, but it won’t be the last time Willows High School students with developmental disabilities were front and center, showing their goats at the recent Glenn County Fair in California.
The Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (Oregon AITC) received a $5,000 grant from Wilbur-Ellis to continue the growth and expansion of its lending library.
Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed Division donated $2,664 ($3,500 Canadian) to the Windy City Canine Rescue Society, a dog shelter based in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, that helps older dogs in need of a new home find their perfect family.
Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division donated $2,150 to Silver Buckle Ranch to assist in sponsoring one teen for a six-week long Teen Wrangler course, grounds maintenance around the ranch and aid in the purchase of a newer tractor to replace the existing 1964 model.
As part of its pink seed campaign, Wilbur-Ellis Chester joined forces with the Chester Area High School Lady Flyers at “Think Pink” night at a Flyers volleyball match. Willows High School received Wilbur-Ellis impact funds totaling $5,000 to help build a greenhouse for students, including those with developmental disabilities. The greenhouse enables students to take plant science classes, integrated with FFA criteria.
The $3,000 donation aids Fences for Fido’s mission to build free fences for families who keep dogs on chains or in cages.
The $100,000 donation will help the American Red Cross aid victims, and additional Impact Funds will go to Taft and El Campo.
The Dairy Animal Barn at the Ionia 4-H Fair burned down in 2017 and it quickly became apparent that the club needed a new one. An event called “Cover our Cattle” was created to raise funds to rebuild the barn.
